When we sing
of cherry time — the door
will stay open

La maison de Martin et Valérie shows a dwelling seen from afar, tiny, set on a horizon line. The landscape is built from broad horizontal bands of pale yellow, grey and white, crossed by a dark line of trees.

The title gives the inhabitants a name: the house is no longer an anonymous motif of rural architecture, but the place of a life and of a family memory. The series “La maison” thus questions what is handed down with a place.
