La monnaie (allobroges) is an oil painting in a range of browns. It enlarges the relief of an ancient coin: a profile and scrolls become an almost abstract image.
A coin is by definition a repeated object, struck in series and passed from hand to hand. Sébastien Bonin turns it into an image of the memory of a territory and of the circulation of forms through time.
