Le ciel étoilé is a large oil painting. A flat sky blue is scattered with small white stars, like a ceiling or a painted fabric, with no horizon or landscape.
The motif recalls the starry vaults of chapels and the decorative patterns of rural interiors. Sébastien Bonin isolates it to make it a simple, repeated sign, carrying a popular and religious memory.
